IFC-SG Overview

Introduction

Welcome to IFC-SG Toolbox for Revit!

IFC, Industry Foundation Classes, is standard used for open BIM data exchange. Version 4 has been adopted by 7 regulatory agencies in Singapore for ePlanCheck. For this to work efficiently, an enhanced set of parameters called IFC-SG will be introduced.

IFC-SG is still under development. No BIM solution today has this built-in. By referring to the IFC-SG standards, you should be able to set up such parameters for your BIM Project. However this is tedious and prone to errors.

Our solution to IFC-SG is a series of APIs that automates the creation, verification and export of your BIM Project. Our goal is to provide you with a solution that’s easy to use and accurate.

Working with New Projects

When you create a new project, our API will scan through it and know that it does not contain any IFC-SG Parameters. It will then prompt you to decide whether you wish to automatically populate your project with IFC-SG Parameters:

If you decide to populate the IFC-SG Parameters with the default values, click on option 1.

To find out more about the options in this dialog box, please refer to “Check Values“.

This is the prompt you will get upon creating a new project

You will be getting similar prompts as you work with our solution

So let's get acquainted with our standard interface and workflow.

The header is where we display status messages

In this case, it tells you that your project does not have any IFC-SG Parameters yet.

The footer is a weblink to the related documentation.

Working with Existing Projects

You can populate your existing projects with IFC-SG Parameters whenever you wish to do so.

To get started, please click on the IFCSG tab on your menu bar:
